I talked to him. He said he remembers the treaty being signed. I don't think he's lying. He's already had some contact with Lloyd, but I don't know how much, or if Lloyd's decided to trust him completely.

We should probably get together and talk about this. I'd like to hear Kratos' thoughts, too.

[There's an awkward pause. She doesn't know what else to say, so she tries something vaguely comforting.]

[He listens to the message, taking it in. Zelos isn't quite as willing to believe the guy isn't lying, but it might explain why he hasn't tracked Zelos down yet. Fake name or not, Zelos knew he couldn't hide his mana signature from Mithos.]

[ ...or if Lloyd's decided to trust him completely...]

[That's the phrase that keeps churning in Zelos's head after he listens to the voicemail. That there's a chance Lloyd has decided to trust Mithos, the guy who destroyed everything and became an utter monster, completely. And he could see it too, he could see Lloyd extending that sort of trust to anyone.]

[Anyone except Zelos, of course.]

[As low as his opinion of himself is, as much as he doesn't think he deserves trust-- he has to admit it hurts to think that apparently he could merit less trust than a genocidal maniac.]

[Sheena wants a meeting with all of them? He could see the writing on the wall. They'd side with Mithos. They'd trust the kid more than they trust him. And why shouldn't they? Zelos can't even go a day without lying about his name, and Mithos always had such an honest face. If he was claiming to not be insane, then they will want to befriend him. To give him a chance.]

[He was so tired of everything. He didn't even know what the solution with Mithos was, he didn't want to think about it all. Was it so much to ask to be left alone? To have peace? Was his sins really so bad that he wasn't allowed even that? ]

[Well, at least he knew Sheena deserved some kind of answer. None of this was her fault, after all.]

[It had been yet another day of sickness. How many had it been now? She'd lost count, but-- it was the same as always, at first. Coughing fits non stop, terrible symptoms and trying to sleep in her brother's room. Taking up space here.

But at some point in the early afternoon, one of her coughing fits takes a turn for the worse in a way she wasn't expecting. It feels like her lungs are filled, and she chokes and wheezes and stumbles out of the bed when she realizes it's not something that's just going to clear itself up with a few more coughs. She needs help.

And she hates herself for it but she needs to get help just for that reason--

But she doubles over halfway to the door, catching herself crouching with her hands on the ground as she wheezes nearly completely out of breath. Damn it, she can't even speak to call for someone--!]

[Zelos wasn't sick, but he was getting more and more exhausted by this whole ordeal. For the past several days, if he wasn't at the clinic he was attending to Seles. Constantly attending to sick people he didn't know how to help. Even his healing spells seemed less and less effective to it, while he was feeling more and more drained.]

[Now with the knowledge that the United Earth was responsible for this outbreak? Well, he couldn't help but feel anger, dread and more than enough fear. If it wasn't for Seles's illness or the clinic, he'd be tempted to go out to find the sleep agents and slaughter them the moment they got information out of them.]

[He had been on the couch when Seles had this attack, attempting at getting any sort of rest before his mana became dangerously low. He was asleep only five minutes before the sounds of Seles stumbling wakes him. He was starting to get used to the sound of the coughing, but that was new]

[So needless to say, he's heading in there as quick as he can. When he sees her on the ground, there's a stir of panic as he kneels down next to her]

Evening of August 7th, ACTIONISH

[For a few days, there's nothing from Kaneis. No message over the network, no voice mails- no attempts to contact the Crow. It's probably a breath of fresh air for Link, what dealing with the Exorcists and all that. ]

[However that certainly doesn't mean Kaneis decided to ignore the note or simply accept. He wasn't someone who took new changes laying down, not at least until he had enough information. Allen, as tumultuous as their relationship tended to be, was his roommate. And this change in Allen's life was clearly big enough to cause a stir in their lives. ]

[So that's what he's been spending the past few days doing. Gathering what he could from Initiative provided medical records (which was next to nothing, which was pretty unsurprising), following the feeds of the tablets, asking around and sometimes observing in person from a distance - all to get a feeling on what kind of person he was dealing with. Super senses and years experience with spying made it so it was pretty easy to watch without rousing too much suspicion, though maybe Link caught glimpses now and then of someone with covered up hair lingering a bit too long in the area.]

[But the hens will finally come home to roost on the seventh when Link gets back to his cot in temporary housing. On the pillow, there is an envelope neatly placed with Link's full name handwritten on it. The handwriting itself is fairly fancy- someone with a good education took time on it. The letter inside contains the same handwriting as well as some money.]

"To Howard,

Thank you for the notice of your actions. While I had much preferred you contacted the adults of the apartment in a more discreet manner (we do have a child living with us), I can understand that handwritten notes may be more familiar to you. And so I thought I'd return the gesture!

I can't claim to have extensive knowledge of the ongoing on the Black Order or of Allen's activities in your world. Though I can say over the past eight months in Exsilium he hasn't done anything to merit constant supervision. But of course, I'm sure you are only doing your job! I get it! I don't plan to interfere, I've made a habit of staying out of your war and I intend to keep it that way.

To keep things simple, I strongly encourage you not to give me any reason to rethink this stance.

If you wish to contact me or the other roommates, you're free to do so! Perhaps allowing us to get to know you will do you good. His name's Richter Abend, and he was Aster's friend. I don't think he's a threat while he's here, but after Aster's death he...he caused a lot of trouble, to stop me from eliminating mankind and to bring back Aster. And part of that involved taking a Cruxis Crystal from you or Colette, so I thought you especially should know.

But don't tell Aster! He doesn't know, and I think it's better that way.

[So about a week ago, Kaneis decided to reveal he's a rather significant religious figure in his own world. After eight months of knowing the guy, it's just about the last thing Allen would have ever assumed - but really, his opinion of Kaneis hasn't changed much at all. Kaneis is Kaneis, it doesn't matter to him if some people a world away think he's the child of angels; but at least his roommate was honest with him.

Now it's his turn. He's been putting off long enough, he knows. He can't keep his roommates in the dark, not when this is something that could affect them

[Zelos made no mention of that conversation since it occurred. He's pretty sure Allen didn't believe him, or maybe Zelos simply didn't want to bring up anything close to emotions ever again. Better to pretend it never happened right? Right.]
