[A very pretty zombie, at least? If they were THIS pretty, people might be less scared about getting eaten by them in movies.

Kratos remains silent, mulling over what else to say. The answer? Nothing, really. If he'd died, he'd died. Nothing can change that (ignoring time travel stuff). With that in mind, he turns and makes to open the door.]

[An amazing opportunity? This? Zelos was more along with the opinion that it was the universe once again yanking him around just to be an ass. But he'll keep his mask up.]

[He gives a lazy wave as he starts heading for the door] Anyway, it's been...something, Kratos. If you need anything else, I go by Kaneis now. So...look me up under that or something.

[Consider that a good thing. He wouldn't be able to score free stuff with maggots crawling out of his eye-sockets.

[Maybe it's just a preference or some private reason or whatnot but it's still curious and worth asking about.]

[The Chosen System? What did that have to do with this? He's just going to raise an eyebrow at that.]

[Something flashes across Kratos' face at that. It isn't pity this time; it's guilt. Another one like Colette, except this one died. The circumstances of the death may be unknown, but just the fact Zelos had been dealt that same horrible fate... And it's all thanks to him, all thanks to not stopping Mithos from going down the wrong path.

After being silent for a good moment, he finally speaks up again.]

Thank you for being willing to speak with me despite you having had every right to decline.

[He feels awkward in the silence, he can easily read the guilt palpable on Kratos. It's both surprising and unsurprising. Unsurprising because who wouldn't feel guilt when hearing their future them is going to ruin the lives of so many. Yet surprise since he still remembers the Kratos of his time. A Kratos so jaded by millenniums of death that Zelos would never get that look. If anything, that guy almost always seemed to look straight past him, as if he wasn't even there. ]

[In the end, he has to look away from his face and diverts his eyes elsewhere. For a kid that always wanted attention so badly, he doesn't know what to do when he gets it. ]

...Whatever. Someone had to answer things.

[That look of surprise feels commonplace now. He's an uncaring, unsmiling bastard in the future. People know it and are used to it, however that isn't him now. He cares, he feels guilt and, perhaps most importantly, he wants to strive to make it up to anyone who's suffered thanks to his tyranny.

Maybe Zelos may never know (Kratos definitely won't tell), but a vow gets made to help him in whatever way possible. It cannot possibly absolve him of anything nor can it undo whatever suffering Zelos has gone through due to him, yet something needs to be done. Those who have been Chosens deserve kindness, no, they deserve happiness and the least that Kratos can do is try to see to it they receive it.]

That someone didn't necessarily have to be you so you have my gratitude.

Uh, but last I checked I'm the only one here that knows anything.

[Forever defensive to the end, pretty much]
