[He'd like to say 'don't worry, it's nothing serious', but. Well.


He'll be there soon, at any rate. Unlocking the door and coming in, a few minutes after he made the call,]

[He was sitting on the couch reading when Allen comes in. He'll look up and set the book aside on the coffee table when he hears him come in, raising an arm in a lazy wave]

Hey. [He makes his way to a seat across the couch, sitting in it with a exhale.]

It's a few things... [ where to begin... ]

Do you remember, when I told you someone new from my world had arrived this month? A blond man with a braid - you might have seen him around...? [ because he follows Allen everywhere outside the apartment, and all. ]

[He sits up. Oh, it's about this]

You mean that Howard guy? Yeah- he left a note under our door couple weeks back.

A note? What did it say?

Um...that he's stalking you for work reasons but won't monitor the apartment and it's up to you if you want to tell us why he's living in the bushes.

[Uh... huh.

He hesitates, running a hand through his hair. He supposes he should be grateful that Link left it up to him, though right now it's difficult to feel particularly thankful.]

I'm sure he'll be monitoring me for as long as we're both here. I think it's important I tell you why, but... don't tell Sophie or Cheria, please. I'll talk to them.

[Just spit it out, Allen! He's sure Kaneis won't flip his shit, it'll be fine.]

It's to do with the Noah - I've explained them, haven't I?

[He's explained that they're crazy, bad-news humans who want to kill everyone, ba...sically.]

[He's actually getting told why? That was...worrying, but he'll nod and listen]

Noah? They're dangerous enemies of the Exorcist, right? That Tyki guy's one.

That's right. I don't really understand it fully myself, but the Noah, it's like a presence in their head. It's what gives them their powers, and makes them dangerous. [ working up to the point here. . . ]

[wilder]

Right...

[Worrying feeling? Definitely increasing]

So what about them?

[debtor]

[Though he tries to keep up, at least, the appearance of having a cool head about it, his posture's tense, jaw tight. Reminds himself that it's better if his friends find out from him.]

I've a Noah in me, as well.

[wilder]

[There's a pause, with his face wearing an expression almost never seen on him: stunned]

What?

action;

[debtor]

[That's almost alarming to see. He glances away, as he keeps talking,]

I only found out recently myself. It's why Link was assigned to monitor me. [ And as far as he knows, it's only a matter of time before he begins to show signs. And he doesn't know how much time he has. ] Since we live together... you need to know, too.

[wilder]

[He meanwhile is trying to wrap his mind around it. Provided, he barely knew a thing about Noah. But that they had things inside their head and really liked killing people because of that-]

- But that doesn't make any sense! I mean, wouldn't you have noticed something like that in your head already? And you sure don't act like you wanna kill everything- or anything for that matter!

[He runs his hand through his hair, pushing long strands back. He had thought Allen committed some crime back home- maybe got someone killed or messed up a mission- but this?]

I just- Are you sure it's not any mistake?

[The question, he knows is stupid the moment he ask. But...he still can't it. this can't be right]

[He shakes his head, back straightening.]

It's not a mistake.

But I don't want to kill anyone. [ firmly, ] I'm an Exorcist, that will never change. The Noah isn't me, and I won't let it become me.

[wilder]

[It's not a mistake...Allen won't let it become him...]

[He takes a deep breath, trying to steady his thoughts. There's too much he doesn't know, he doesn't like this. Allen's conviction about things have never been a comfort to him, really. ]

Then...what's going to happen?

[Here's the part where his shounen conviction runs a bit thin.

It's one thing to say you'll never let something happen. It's another to be told that it's happening, in the future, to a 'you', outside of your control.]

...I don't know.

[ 'He won't let it become him', but, ] Kaneis, if... anything happens, I need you to contact the other Exorcists.

[He'd ask Kaneis to kill him, if things took a turn for the worst, except he doesn't want Kaneis engaging a Noah in a fight at all.]

['I don't know'? ]

[He'll look over at Allen at that request. For a 'I don't know', that's a rather weighted requested. It doesn't take much for him to guess what he means by that.]

Why? So they can kill you?

action;

[debtor]

[ No point in lying. ] If it's necessary.

[wilder]

[He's silent for a moment at that reply. He then stands up, as if the chair suddenly was unpleasant to sit in. Arms loosely crossed, he walks away to a nearby window. It's still raining, like always. Yet looking at it helps calm his nerves and think more than staring at the place that he's made his home the past nine months. ]

[It's a long spell before he speaks up again. ]

...That's a stupid plan.

[He feels terrible, that he's forcing the people close to him to shoulder this as well. This shouldn't be something Kaneis needs to deal with at all. But Allen's made it his problem. His gaze drops down, to his knees.

The plan, however...

It's not as though he wants it to come to that, to anything close to that. But-]

What would you have them do?

I- I don't know!

[It's said a bit snappishly, hurried. He doesn't know what to do. He doesn't know anything. He keeps trying to wrap his mind around this, and it's hard. He had been so hoping his paranoia about Link meant nothing, that things would keep being the same. That the little bit of happiness- or at least, content - he's managed to scrounge up would stay after everything else. But here they were, discussing how to kill his teenage roommate should he lose it. ]

[And this time he can't even find a way to blame it on himself. Even in his damaged mind, he couldn't figure out a way how Noah infestations had anything to do with his existence.]

[He takes a deep breath, trying to get stable- trying to be detached]

I don't know, okay? It's not like you've given me a plethora of information to make a nice plan or anything.

But I know the dead comes back here- quickly too. They...they kill you, and you'd...just pop right back up an hour later. In the Initiative's hospital full of innocent people, no less.

[Yeah. That's it. The logical reason is the reason why he's against it. Nothing else.]
