It would be a lie were I to tell you changing what happens hadn't initially been my objective, however you needn't be concerned as it no longer is such.

[At least not for now, not until he can figure out how to keep Mithos from going insane while at the same time making sure Lloyd keeps on existing.]

All I seek presently is answers, nothing more.

Well, I don't know the finer details. Just that some human betrayed the group and killed her. All in all it sounded sudden.

[Some human? How specific. ...Though he is hoping to whatever deity that some human wasn't some redheaded former knight human. Then again, he would've been killed shortly thereafter so it likely wasn't.]

Likely so. Had there been any prior warning whatsoever, Martel would not have met the fate she did, rest assured.

While the first is true and the latter undeniable, I had meant more in regards to his actions and motivations. Yuan is apart of both Cruxis and the Renegades, is he not?

...Fine. You want to know the story I was told?

Sometime ago you fell for a woman. Her name was Anna, she was a human subject for the Angelus Project. I don't know how you two met or why you fell for her, but you did and you betrayed Mithos by escaping with her.

You two had a son, named Lloyd. Somehow you were separated, I don't know how. Lloyd got taken in by a dwarf named Dirk in Sylvarant. Anna died somehow, her grave's at Dirk's house. All I know is it must've happened when Lloyd was pretty young, since he sure doesn't remember you.

You? Went back to Cruxis. You remained Lord Yggdrasil's loyal servant and eventually got sent to look after the Journey of Regeneration for Sylvarant's Chosen since the Renegades had been picking off Chosens over there for years. There you were reunited with Lloyd, your long lost son.

But oh, you didn't dare tell him the truth. That you were his father. Instead you played your part in the Journey and when it was all over you revealed yourself as an angel and betrayed the group. But it didn't end there. Lloyd started to cause problems for Cruxis, hoping to find a way to save the world without sacrificing people. And you didn't know who to side with- Mithos's or your own son.

So like a weak and complacent bastard, you didn't pick a side. You stayed as close to neutral as you could and let all the decisions fall to everyone else's shoulders - hoping everyone else would take care of it for you.

And that's the Kratos I know.

[Wow... That's... Wow. A long, hard moment of silence passes as Kratos lets all that sink it.]
