[Zelos wasn't sick, but he was getting more and more exhausted by this whole ordeal. For the past several days, if he wasn't at the clinic he was attending to Seles. Constantly attending to sick people he didn't know how to help. Even his healing spells seemed less and less effective to it, while he was feeling more and more drained.]

[Now with the knowledge that the United Earth was responsible for this outbreak? Well, he couldn't help but feel anger, dread and more than enough fear. If it wasn't for Seles's illness or the clinic, he'd be tempted to go out to find the sleep agents and slaughter them the moment they got information out of them.]

[He had been on the couch when Seles had this attack, attempting at getting any sort of rest before his mana became dangerously low. He was asleep only five minutes before the sounds of Seles stumbling wakes him. He was starting to get used to the sound of the coughing, but that was new]

[So needless to say, he's heading in there as quick as he can. When he sees her on the ground, there's a stir of panic as he kneels down next to her]

Seles!

[hiddendepth]

[Oh thank goodness, he's here, and she feels a wave of relief at this even in the midst of this panic. One of her hands reaches out clumsily to grip at his shirt, using it as makeshift support as her second raises to clutch near her neck. And she shakes her head, trying to mouth the words that won't quite come out with her choking and wheezing so horribly like this.

Can't breathe.]

[Fortunately, he doesn't need words to tell him that she can't breath. What he sees and hears is bad enough. That stir turns into a swell, and for a second he's not sure what to do- but oh right. Maybe the inhaler? He'll scramble over to the nightstand to grab it, bringing it back to her]

[Since yeah really don't know how to work that thing. In the meanwhile, he'll start trying to concentrate hard on a spell- anything to help ease up whatever is causing it to make it so hard to breath. He's definitely seems to be struggling with it a bit more than usual- between the fear and the exhaustion muddling his brain]

[Right, right, she fumbles to grab at the inhaler. It's clumsy and not very helpful that she's unable to breath as she works to put it together and shake it and raise it to her mouth. But it's hard enough to even time breathing let alone a huge gasp of air.

Still, she's running out of options, and finally after a cough she sprays, and the breath certainly sounds more... thorough. Though nothing nearly as clear. But she gets air, and it's relieving and still unstable all at the same time and it takes another moment before she's there, her shallow breaths keeping her alive for the time being.]

It's not-- as much as usual... [Helping as much, she means, but she hopes it makes sense with her scratchy voice and cut off lines. Why did she have to be like this, why--]

It feels like... my lungs...

[As she does that, he'll finally punch through the mental exhaustion to get another first aid spell on her. It even hurts a little, forcing it like that when he's so low on mana, but he manages not to let it show or have his wings come out from reflex. Since really those things are the last things needed right now]

[There's a tiny bit of relief when he hears her voice again, but not a whole lot. They got through this moment, but what about the next? ]

...Are full?

[Pneumonia. The UE's virus was giving that wretched thing now. It was given to his sister and he was getting more useless at helping her]

We should get you to the hospital.

[hiddendepth]

[She can only nod as she grips the inhaler tightly with one hand, the other reaching towards her brother. It's instinct more than anything, reaching for help from him. She's not even thinking this through too much aside from how much trouble she's causing for him.

The first aid helps a little, and for her especially the familiar feeling is somewhat calming, but. This issue is large and not going away.

Her eyes are still watery from all the choking, but she manages out a few more words.]

I'm so sorry...

[wilder]

[He'll let her take hold of him, his own arm pulling her into a hug. He tries to make sure his own face mask is up, so she can't read him. He'll even move his head above hers just for that. He knew the hospital wasn't too much a better place. There's no guarantee they could cure her, and they were pretty full as it was- making it one big incubator.]

[But they could monitor better there, give better medication to help with these attacks. Much more than he could do. At the very least, maybe it will give him some time to look for a better way to help her on his own. More time to rest before he ended up sick and...]

[He scoffs a little at her statement, rubbing her back with his hand]

It's not your fault.

[It was the UE. They would be the ones paying for this]

[She falls right into that hug, coughing between shallow breaths. She feels like she could cry. She gets close, honestly, but she doesn't want to let herself add even more to this situation. She wants to be strong in this way, at least.

And her brother is here, supporting her, though no matter how much he hides-- she knows by now that he must be worried. Upset. That even if this isn't her 'fault'...

She feels responsible.

Trying to gradually slow her breathing, she holds on a bit tighter.]

I-I think I can walk now. ...I'll be fine, I promise. Once we get to the hospital...

[wilder]

[He meanwhile doesn't let go; because yeah- seriously unsure]

Don't push yourself. I can carry you just fine if you need it.

[hiddendepth]

I'm fine for now.

[She thinks. She really wants to be, because dealing with the stares of people as they head to the hospital will be terrible enough. It's so strange that that's the first thing she's thinking about, but it is, and she frowns to herself as she shifts to head towards the door.

She'll hold onto Zelos' arm though.]

[wilder]

[That's because you're fifteen my child. At fifteen, somehow getting judged by random strangers outweighs your own life. But he'll go with it.]

..Alright.

[He takes a breath, trying to make sure to focus on this and this alone. Get her to the hospital, to a safe place. Think of a plan after that. ]

[He makes sure to at least have a piece of mind to grab their coats before they leave. He'll drape Seles onto her, while shrugging his own on. Since yeah, sure hasn't stopped raining]

[hiddendepth]

[She clings to the coat as they walk, and doesn't offer any more words. It's hard enough to breathe let alone speak. And so she just holds her coat closed with her inhaler in her hand, the other arm curled around Zelos' as they walk for support.

Her shallow breathing is all too clear. But at least she seems to be having just her normal level of coughing attacks along the way there.]

[wilder]

[And he'll be silent as they walk as well. Each one of her breaths terrify him, they sound wrong and so unhealthy. Like they were on the verge of another attack. It's a good five minutes of walking before he decides to speak up again]

...I know you said you didn't want to depend on an exsphere, but we might not have a choice.

I still have my crystal. If I find some way to get a keycrest, maybe we could...

[Give her a fighting chance]

It should make things easier.

[hiddendepth]

A... keycrest?

[She pauses, glancing up to him as they walk. And she's not really surprised at the suggestion idea itself so much as the fact that he's offering his crystal. Would it even be right for her to wear that?

...Maybe it doesn't matter here, but she still doesn't like the idea of exspheres and the like. But if it would help...

She frowns after a few coughs.]

...Do you think the doctors in the hospital won't be able to help?

[wilder]

[There's a pause as he thinks of how to answer that]

I think they'll be able to attend to you better. Give you the medicine and attention to make this easier. They got more resources and capability than I do.

But...it's an epidemic. One made by the UE. They won't have a cure for awhile yet.

[hiddendepth]

[Heart sinking, she lowers her gaze to the ground as they walk. Right. She had heard that too, though she'd been trying her best not to speak about it. With her body...]

...If it becomes necessary... I understand.

[wilder]

[he gives a nod, reaching over to squeeze her shoulder to give her some sort of comfort.]

I'll do everything I can, okay? We'll get through this. I promise.

[hiddendepth]

[She is comforted by that, as little as it is.]

Yes. [She nods along with the word, hoping to convey all she means by that. She understands. She knows he will. They will... because she wants to get through this. She doesn't want to die. And the thought and realization makes her take a slightly shaky shallow breath before continuing.]

I'll do my best, too. [To get better. To take care of herself. She knows it's important...] Big brother, I'm sorry... for showing up at this time.

[wilder]

[yeah no dying. You die and a lot more people will die after that whoops]

For the last time, it's not your fault. Don't blame yourself.

[hiddendepth]

[She just grows quiet, looking at the ground at his words. She considers them, but it's hard.

And the rest of the way there, she won't be saying anything else unless Zelos speaks first. A silence of just kind of disappointed feelings and unhealthiness.]
