I was actually coming to see you because the shaking's bad enough that it's hard to concentrate. I can't carve when my hands are shaking, so... my project's on the wayside right now.

[As he starts cleaning the area of his elbow, looking for a vein]

[ he gives kaneis a flat look, then half-smiles. ]

Not at all. The move up here was just peachy.

Losing almost everyone from home, I guess. I'm gonna be eighteen in a few days, and I'm in the police force now.

Huh? You joined the police force?

I was in it a few months before... but I wasn't eighteen, so I couldn't be on duty. Now that we're short on staff, though... we don't have much of a choice.

So does that freak you out?

Being on duty? [ he turns his head with a little grin. ] No way. I've wanted to be on the force for a while.

Oh, well then...congratulations! Hope it goes well for you.

[Now that he's done cleaning, he starts prepping the needles]

If you don't like needled, I recommend you look away.

[Yes good, HIDE FROM THE NEEDLES. He meanwhile gets to work injecting a needle into his vein so he can start taking blood samples WHEEE]

riku's a big baby. he tenses up a little, but he calms himself down a few moments after, eyes still shut. yes, they're staying that way, even after kaneis pulls away. ]

[And he's taking a few vials of it, but eventually he's done, pressing a cotton swab to his injection point]

All done! Now I just need you to apply pressure to this little cotton swab I'm holding. Can you do that?

[limitstorm]

[ he mutters, raising his hand--and awkwardly realizing that his broken and unset wrist might actually make kaneis raise an eyebrow. uhh.

he presses the swab to his arm with the same arm. ]

Then what happened to your wrist?

[ his eyebrows arch in shock and worry, even as he tries to pull off-- ]

Wh--what'd you mean? It's easier this way.
