[Zelos was packing things up when he hears the knock on his door. It sounds very persistent, so he sets down the item he was holding to head over to the door and open it]

Cat? Something wrong?

[wolfchild]

[ she's wet and pale and looking more like a skinny rat than ever. her eyes are dark and look huge on her thin face. ]

Have you and Allen got your things?

[wilder]

[Yeah...she's really not looking well, he frowns some]

I was just packing up some things now. Why? Ship shouldn't be here for awhile.

[wolfchild]

I wanted to make sure. Just grab whatever you can carry. And get on the first one. [ she peers around him. ] Allen's not being stupid, is he?

[wilder]

[He crosses his arms, looking mildly perturbed]

He's...[he doesn't need to finish this sentence at all, does he.]

[ she slaps a hand to her face. ]

[YEP PRETTY MUCH. He'll step aside so the doorway is clear]

[LOOK WHO IT IS finally deciding to see who was at the door. He thought he heard-]

Allen! [ her face lights up a little when she spots him. ] You're coming on the ship with me, right?

[wilder]

[He's just...going to watch how this plays out for now]

[debtor]

[Meanwhile, he just looks drawn, harried. He heads closer, looking her over - she looks worse off. Where has she been?]

Are you preparing to go? You're leaving on the first ship, right?

[Watch, as he deftly avoids answering the question.]

You're coming with me. [ she looks for zelos. ] You both are.

[ it's framed as a question. ]

[oh he's being included. He just...clears his throat as he bounces a little on the balls of his feet, his arms still crossed]

[Looking at Allen]

[debtor]

[Thanks, Kaneis. He doesn't look directly at either of them.]

I'll help you pack. I don't have that many things. I can carry stuff for you too.

[.....Nope he's not going to step into this bear trap Allen is totally on his own here. He is just going quiet again]

[debtor]

[He shakes his head, rubbing the back of his neck. He's trying very hard to ignore Kaneis standing there, hoping he doesn't say anything.]

No, it's all right, you should only carry what you need. Don't worry about my things.

[wolfchild]

You're going. [ she prompts. ]

[wilder]

[Giving you a look. Come on Allen, fess up to the little girl about your stupid as hell plan. Do it.]

[debtor]

[NO STOP LOOKING AT HIM LIKE THAT, BOTH OF YOU.

Shoulders tensing, he shakes his head. He's going to have to, isn't he.]

I can't leave yet. There has to be another way, someway to save them - I won't abandon everyone like this. [ he says it quickly, like he's trying not to leave them any room to object to this foolproof plan. ]

[wolfchild]

[ she shoves him. ]

Are you stupid? There's not going to be anything to abandon! This will all be gone! Nothing will be able to live here for years! If you don't die in the explosion, you'll die of sickness! You're not helping anyone, you'd just be killing yourself!

[wilder]

[Sickness too huh? Nothing will be able to live here for years? Just how nasty was this nuclear thing anyway? Zelos crosses his arms and looks down at his feet again, choosing not to jump in just yet. The entire subject matter made him sick to even think about.]

[debtor]

[He stumbles back a step, hands balled into fists at his side. He still won't meet her eyes.

'Sickness' is news to him as well... but it won't change anything.]

There has to be a way to prevent it! I have to try. If I run— they'll all die! We'll lose everything, I can't let that happen, I'm sorry, I can't!

[His vision begins to fog. He knows that he sounds mad, he knows he'll almost certainly be signing his death warrant. But how can he live with himself, if he does nothing at all?]

There isn't a way! It doesn't matter if you stay or go, they'll all die!

[ her voice breaks. ]

Who's going to take care of me if you stay?!
