[He's up in his room when he gets the call. Even more weird, he hears Allen make the call through the walls. And since it seems really strange having a conversation over the tablet when you're in the house- ]

I swear I'm wearing pants, Allen. You can come to my room if you wanna talk.

[HE'S NOT TAKING ANY CHANCES.

But with a heavy sigh, he gets up and walks the whole ten feet to Kaneis's door. And lets himself in.]

[GODDESS IT WAS ONE TIME!! ]

[He meanwhile puts aside some book as Allen comes in, sitting up on the bed as he figures out how to start.]

Cat? What about her?

[Do you have furniture he can sit on. He's going to sit on something.]

She's cross with me. And she's right to be, but... [ but it sucks. he sucks. ]

I don't know if there's anything I can do.

Well...I guess that depends. What happened?

[debtor]

I promised her I would help her. That I would be there for her.

But I left. And when I came back, I didn't go to find her, or even let her know. [ that probably really wasn't the right thing to do, with a kid who believes everyone is going to leave her in the end. ] She found me instead.

[wilder]

[....Oh crap a trust issue. The kind he's worst at.]

So now she's really mad at you for that. And....you want to know if there's anything you can do to fix that?

[debtor]

Yeah...

I asked her if there was any way I could make it up to her, and she said there wasn't. [ he runs a hand through his hair. ] I'm worried about her. I don't want to break my promise, but I already have, haven't I?

[HELP HIM, ZELOS-SENSEI. WHAT CAN HE DO...]

[YOU CAN...ASK SOMEONE THAT ISN'T ZELOS-SENSEI. He's rubbing the back of his neck because ugh, talk about a subject he knows so little about. He didn't trust, and people didn't trust him. But now he's supposed to give advice on it?]

I'm not sure that's even...something that can be fixed by one gesture. Broken trust isn't easily mended. Especially for someone who doesn't trust easily, like her.

I don't expect to... fix it with a single gesture like that. But do you think it could be mended at all?

[And that reasoning sounds enough like Lloyd's reasoning for not leaving him alone, that he can't help but stare for a moment. He then puts his hand on his forehead and gives a self-deprecating smile as he talks to himself]

[And then he'll lower his hand and look over at Allen.]

Well, if you really believe that...then maybe you should stick to it and act accordingly.

By...being stubborn and keep trying? Or stalking- I dunno. I'm not exactly an expert on how to earn trust.

Well- maybe not to the level that Howard stalks, but you know- be around!

I dunno! It's just what people from my world seem to think works! I tell them go away, and they keep coming back until I finally give up!

Just...try to be there for her! Even she tries to shove you away. She's a kid that's been through a lot, so it's not like she can really think in a bigger picture what's better for her.
