[THIS IS NOT WHAT SHE WAS EXPECTING TO DEAL WITH AT ALL. It's really a shame that text can't convey the flustered flutter of her wings, or the absolute absurdity of this entire thing, or her general speechlessness (as speechless as a mute girl can be, anyway).]

I don't want to lie to people anymore. Especially not you.

You're-- probably one of the people I trust most here, and you have been a very good friend to me.

[He stares at this message.]

[He stares at it for a good long time.]

[In fact, after a bit of staring he'll try shaking the tablet to see if it's broken. But no, no it's still there. And it's not even a misfired message to someone else]

[Nill you might wanna to see if he's okay]

[Nill waits for a few minutes, kind of... you know, expecting a reply. It didn't seem like he was busy prior to this, so she's not sure what to make of his lack of a response.]

Is something wrong?

[wilder]

[he finally answers after a minute]

I don't understand.

You're a mind reader....you should know I've lied about a lot more things than just my age.

[Not that he's ever lied about his age but- why would you trust him?]

[reassures]

[It's her turn to pause for a few moments. It never really feels quite right, explaining how much she hears and sees.]

I do know. But-- Whenever you lied, it was something I could understand. They made your life a little easier.

I've lied to a lot of people for things like that, too.

[wilder]

[Wow. That is forgiving and shoots holes into his boat of reasons to hate him]

I'm just not someone people normally trust.

[reassures]

[As it should.]

That doesn't matter to me. I trust you.

You're a better person than you think you are.

[Maybe not in his own eyes - that much she was sure of - but Nill honestly believes that he's not that bad. He's far from perfect, but part of the reason she trusts him is that he admits to most of his imperfections.]

[he's heard that before from a couple people about him being a better person. He's never really sure how to take it]

I suppose there isn't very much to say to that.

No, that's fine...

Most of the things said here sound strange to me anyway.

I guess that's probably normal here-- there are a lot of strange people.

[wilder]

A lot of strange people, a lot of strange things. This world is years and years ahead of mine technology wise.

[reassures]

Really?

[Now that he mentions it...]

I'm not sure how much more advanced it is than the world I came from. There are a lot of things that were possible there-- but I don't think anyone could travel through time, or live on the moon.

[wilder]

Yeah, really. There were some groups with advanced tech...but it was generally kept away from humans. It was a big deal that one city had electric lights in their streets.

So time traveling and living on the moon? You can bet that was out.

[reassures]

I've never seen a world where cities didn't have electricity.

[After a small pause,]

Your world doesn't sound very kind.

[wilder]

Heh, 'cause we don't have electricity? That part wasn't so bad. You just used a lot of candles.

[reassures]

It's a little difficult to imagine-- I think I'm very used to having electricity.

[wilder]

Probably. I didn't even see electricity until I was a teenager, so not having it is pretty normal to me.
